Reviews: Mindkult - Witch's Oath

1st EP from American One Man Doom Metal Band.

1st track, King and Priest. Waltz Tempo, Heavier Riff, Noisy and Blues Guitar Solo. It’s good opening, his combined Waltz and Blues. 2nd track, Witch’s Oath. It’s very Blues and Melodic. 3rd track, Serpent’s Nest. It’s very Black Sabbath, but his vocal is very 90s. 4th track, Chief of Devils. It’s great ending and heaviest song on this EP.

Doom, Blues and Kult.
Score: 90%

Interview with Haunted, Female Fronted Stoner Doom Metal Band from Italy

Haunted is Female Fronted Stoner Doom Metal Band from Catania, Sicily, Italy. They're Valerio Cimino - Drums, Cristina Chimirri - Vocals, Frank Tudisco - Bass, Francesco Orlando - Guitars, andFrancesco Bauso - Guitars. Cristina Chimirri gave us some information about Haunted. Check it out.

Tell us about Haunted?
Cristina: Haunted is a design that takes shape only a year ago. inextricable fine lines of grunge and doom woven from our minds. Haunted is an ancestral retch and the confluence of people who have found themselves in the world. Haunted is a musical project and a life path. Haunted is the title of our first full-length album and is the beginning. Haunted is the last track on that album and the echo. Haunted is about us and beyond us.

What are lyrical themes of Haunted?
Cristina: Moon. Nature. Modern Humanism. Esotericism. Witchcraft. Dark and Light. Eye and Mind.

What are your influences?
Cristina: I try deep sonorities from which see the bottom, in which to test the darkness: boulders that roll off a cliff.

Who are Your Favorite Italian Metal Bands?
Cristina:  There are several interesting Italian band these days, we all dig Ufomammut.  I like to think of Schizo and Uzeda, speaking about to concern our own graves.

Interview with Haunted, Female Fronted Stoner Doom Metal Band from Italy, Interview with Haunted Female Fronted Stoner Doom Metal Band from Italy
How did you choose the cover artwork?
Cristina: We have found a kindred spirit in the superb creative genius of Sandro Di Girolamo. The generative process of the images has been conveyed by the suggestions that our songs have aroused in the artist. The result is a fitting decoding of our imagination.

How were the songs written?
Cristina: Writing is like breathing. I breathe the world that exhales from me. I always start by the suggestion of sounds, riffs. Then clot ideas in short periods and big words.

How did the recording process go?
Cristina: The recording process took place at the NuevArte Studio of Carlo Longo; a friend, priceless musician. We walked in the door with a precise idea of what we wanted, we had all the sounds in the head, between the fingers and throat. It was set up and make indelible.

What are your future plans?
Cristina: We will collect the strange fruits of this full-length released just three months ago for Ric Bennet’s Twin Earth Records. Then tour, collaborations and new songs.

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in? Why?
Cristina: Every place, every person fascinates us, because they are inexhaustible sources of different energies, new and foreign.

What bands would you like to play alongside?
Cristina: I would be delighted to play alongside bands such as Electric Wizard, Monolord, Windhand

Any last words?
Cristina:Solomon saith: There is no new thing upon the earth. So that as Plato had an imagination, that all knowledge was but remembrance; so Solomon giveth his sentence, that all novelty is but oblivion. (Francis Bacon, Essay, LVIII).

Reviews: Year of the Cobra - ...In The Shadows Below

Year of the Cobra is Psychedelic Doom Metal Band from Seattle, America. This’s my reviews about their 1st Full Length Album, …In The Shadows Below.

1st track, Lion And The Unicorn. Long intro during 4 minutes 16 seconds. Her vocal like Ozzy and have a little bit atmospheric and psychedelic element. 2nd track, The Siege. The guitar riffs are heavy and rather vague. And her vocal style is too 90s.

3rd track, Vision Of Three. Changeable composition. Heavy riffs and Soft vocals. 4th track, Spider And The Fly. An easy listening song, heavy riffs with psychedelic element, soft vocals, simple drums and catchy Guitar solo.

5th track, Persephone. More Heavy and More Fast than previous tracks. Rock N Roll n Doom. 6th track, White Wizard. Heavy, Soft Vocals, Psychedelic and Catchy. It’s White Wizard.

7th track, Temple Of Apollo. More fast such 5th track and 80s Heavy Metal. 8th track, Electric Warrior. Psychedelic and repeatedly “Elenictric Warrior.” It’s easy listing and great ending.

Expect 4th track has guitar solo, this’s Great Doom Metal Album without Guitar Solo. Heavy Riffs like Black Sabbath and 90s Vocals style.
Score: 95%

Reviews: Beheading Criminal - Self Crushed Defeat Soul

Check it out.

1. Start New Killing: Diawali oleh suara sebuah pembantaian massal.
2. Beheaded Full To Hated: Pemenggalan Kepala Penuh Kebencian. Heheh.
3. Life Full Of Deranged: Diawali oleh sebuah kekacauan.

Neoclassical banget!!!
  7. Suara Kematian: Hyperblasting dan Gravity Blastingnya memang benar-benar edan nih lagu. Riff-riff gitarnya juga catchy.
  8. Pisau Bernoda Darah: Solo Gitarnya sangat Neoclassical, Ruwet dan Edan!!! Sebuah Bebrutalan, Sebuah Kegilaan dan Sebuah Keindahan. Inilah Pisau Bernoda Darah.

Score: 100%

Comiendo Gusanos is Demo from Costarican Female Fronted Thrash Metal Band.

1st track, Cenizas a las cenizas. The Guitar  rather raw, Full Blasting and her Vocals rather sriekh. 2nd track, Cerdo Inquisidor. Full Blasting, Noise Cymbal and Brutal. Her singing powerful and with Fury and Madness Guitar solo. 3rd track, Fe de piedra. Dislike previous track, this song more low-tune and raw. Insane Guitar solo and Wah!!!

It’s Female Fronted Brutal Thrash Metal EP.

Interview with KA GAIA AN, Folk Metal Band from Romania

Ka Gaia An is Folk Metal Band from Bucharest, Romania. This's interview with Ka Gaia An. Check it out.

Tell us about KA GAIA AN?
We are a pagan/folk-metal band from Bucharest, Romania. The band has an activity of almost 9 years, and had mostly played in Romania and Hungary.
The current line-up includes 7 members:
Ariadna - vocals
Florin - vocals
Gabi - lead guitar / backing vocals
Teddy - rhythm guitar
Tudor N. - bass
Paula - keyboards
Tudor U. - drums

What are lyrical themes of KA GAIA AN?
We sing about the Dacians, their culture and civilization. The song "Doina", for example, has lyrics that express deep feelings and sadness, while other songs like "Căluceanu" express joy and energy. The main theme of the song ''Joacă Dacii'' ( The dacian circle dance ) is about the circle dance we so often see our fans perform on our concerts.

What are your influences?
We mix the beauty of our Romanian history and folklore with metal music. The metal influences vary quite a lot so we can't say we have a particular band that defines the way Ka Gaia An sounds.

Who are Your Favorite Romanian Metal Bands?
We appreciate all the Romanian metal bands and we respect them for putting effort into following their passion. If we had to mention a few now, we could talk about Bucovina, Eternal Fire or Adastia, but again, every band deserves appreciation.

How did you choose the cover artwork for "Neamul Dacilor"?
The artwork for "Neamul Dacilor" was based on the feelings expressed by our songs. We discussed, came up with ideas and decided that the artwork should contain the most important elements related to the Dacians: the spirit of war, the sword, the stronghold, the specific clothing, the traditional dance, their connection to nature and their capital, Sarmizegetusa Regia.

How were the songs written?
Over time, due to the fact that the band was founded in 2008, it went through some changes regarding its members. The songs were composed by Ka Gaia An's original members alongside our male vocalist, Florin Costăchiţă, who also wrote the lyrics. Of course, the interpretation of the songs was adapted to the line-up changes. The new members contributed with ideas, but the songs remained true to what Ka Gaia An wishes to express.

How did the recording process go?
The recording process required a lot of hard work, but it was one of the most beautiful and creative moments for Ka Gaia An. Our lead guitarist, Gabi Andrei, handled everything regarding the orchestration, recording, mixing and mastering.

What are your future plans?
We wish to make ourselves heard. We are very passionate about what we do and we want to improve ourselves. We want to spread our music and traditions in as many countries as possible.

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in? Why?
We want to meet people from all over the world! We would like to perform in every country because all of them have their beauty. We are interested in finding out how we are perceived by people in different countries, so that we know what needs to be changed/improved.

What bands would you like to play alongside?
There are many bands that come to our minds, but we could mention Ensiferum, Eluveitie, Arkona, Fintroll and Korpiklaani.

Any last words?
Thank you for the interview and best wishes from Romania and we hope to meet one day in the backstage of one of our gigs!

Reviews: Ignite The Helix – Ignite The Helix

Self-title EP from New Zealand Progressive Death Metal Band.

1st track, Blur The Line. Progressive Melodeath with Classical and element. A great combination between Modern and Classical. 2ndtrack, Throwing Scissors. It’s more Breakdown and a little bit Psychedelic, Melodic and Atmospheric. 3rd track, Murderface. More Atmsopheric, More Groovy and More Melodic. The Synthesizer sound on this song made this song more Dark. 4th track, I Am Oblivion. An easy listening ending. Catchy Groove riffs, without Guitar solo and Dark Atmosphere.

The Beauty of the Groove and the Classical of Modernity.
Score: 95%

Interview with Axxen Conners, Progressive Blackened Death Metal Band from Turkey

Axxen Conners is Progressive Blackened Death Metal Band from Antalya, Turkey. Axxen Conners gave us some information. Check it out.

Tell us about Axxen Conners?
Croc and I have been friends since childhood. Actually we have been playing together for years, but as Axxen Conners, we started producing materials in 2015. We play progressive metal. We released our first EP album 3 months ago, right now we are in the process of composing for the new album.

What are lyrical themes of Axxen Conners?
We tell stories about the things we like in our songs. Speaking of EP, Behind the Walls of Primal Existence is about the cthulhu and a dark priest who worshiped him, the other two  songs are about dark, filthy, nonhuman presence that wakes up and dominates the earth.

What are your influences?
Croc and I grew up together, there were musicians and metal bands that could affect us as much as we could not name. We are just two metalhead who are happy to hang out together and make music.

Who are Your Favorite Turkish Metal Bands?
The first death-metal album we listened to in our lives is Voluptuously Minced, which we bought in 1997. The two of us  love Cenotaph  :)

How did you choose the cover artwork for "Nowhere To Escape Sins"?
While we were designing the album cover we were thinking of something like a comic book, our close friend Ozan Soyulmaz helped us with this and designed it. It was actually more of an album cover describing the song of Cursed Messiah for Doomed Society. \m/ \m/

How were the songs written?
The songs are written by Croc, I write lyrics and vocals. We do arrangements together.

How did the recording process go?
There are advantages and disadvantages of being a music group of two people. Composing and recording songs as two people slowed the recording process. We recorded the records in our studio. He did his Mix and Mastering work with Unsal Ozata. He is the producer of many important metal bands in Turkey. We are very satisfied with the result.

What are your future plans?
We are currently in the recording and composing process for the album, which we will release in 2017. We are looking for the record label to publish it. Then our concerts will begin. If everything is going well, we are planning a small tour in Turkey in 2017

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in? Why?
Obviously, the country I want to play most is Sweden, and Croc says Japan. :)
Because when I was a kid, swedish metal scene always attracted me. Croc just says he likes the place. :)

What bands would you like to play alongside?
This is a very difficult question, but I think we both want to play with Dissection. RIP.

Any last words?
Many thanks to the BDP team.
HAIL METAL!!
